Joy to the World!

Last Wednesday 30th November, All Nations Christian College celebrated their annual “Carols at Easneye.” This event, which is always open to the public, is a celebration of Advent- the lead up to Christmas. This year the theme was “Joy to the World.”

Over 400 people attended the event to sing carols and hear the All Nations Choir perform. There was also a smaller choir performing Christmas songs with German and French melodies. Passages from the Bible were read: from the Old Testament Prophets and the story of Jesus’ birth. One student performed a poem about joy in “spoken word,” style and finally another student gave a short Advent reflection. There was a wonderful sense of expectation and anticipation leading up to Christmas.

All this was followed by hot punch, mince pies and other Christmas goodies in the magnificent Easneye hall. There was also an Art Exhibition by students who had studied the Western and Visual Culture module and All Nations memorabilia to buy.

The Director of the choir and Arts Tutor Jill Ford summed up the mood for many at All Nations, “Praise God for such an uplifting and joyful Carols at Easneye!!”  The Principal and CEO of All Nations, Andy Dipper said “it is wonderful to be able to celebrate Advent with people from all around the world as well as from the local area.”

Watch out for next year’s date!
