Key Programme Information
-
Explore is ideal for those who are considering, or involved in, cross-cultural ministry but have had little or no training, for example:
Those who are not able to attend a residential course.
Those preparing to go on a first placement (of at least a few months).
Those who have had some mission experience but want to ‘fill in the gaps’.
Those who are working in mission and wish to reflect and seek guidance on their current or future ministry.
Those seeking the basics with a view to a long-term journey in cross-cultural work.
Agency or church personnel supporting others in cross-cultural service, or involved in cross-cultural work in their locality.
Participants will be committed Christians with a desire to learn more about how to live, work and witness across cultures.

The course will provide you with a biblical foundation for your life and ministry. You will examine issues of effective teamwork and how to develop and maintain healthy relationships. You will gain a deeper understanding of current trends in mission, and of culture and the effects of transition, enabling you to relate and integrate more easily with those who are different. You will be provided with a variety of practical tools for your life and work.
The course material is delivered through a repeating weekly pattern of 3-5 online lessons and a forum discussion. You will develop a sense of community and deepen your learning through commenting on each other's 'posts' and through informal ‘Prayer’ and ‘Café’ forums. You will be assigned a personal online tutor who will comment on your weekly workbooks and journey with you. We will meet as a group 2-3 times during the course via Zoom to share and encourage one another.
-
There are no prior academic requirements for Explore. Those who are confident in expressing themselves in written English will benefit most from the course. An indication of the level of English we advise is an IELTS score of 4.5 in Listening and Comprehension and 4.0 in Reading and Writing.
-
The All Nations Explore certificate (CPD accredited).
-
Explore runs three times a year so you can begin in September, January or April in any academic year. You will need to commit to about 7 hours of study per week.
-
Spot-lites' are additional 1-week specialist topics that can be taken at the end of the Explore course. Topics currently available are: 'Language Learning' and 'Living as a Family Cross-Culturally'.
