Towards a Deeper Theology of Towards a Deeper Theology of Staff Care and Wellbeing ImageStaff Care and Wellbeing

Online Zoom Event
1st July 2021

How could a more robust theological framework impact our work in staff care and wellbeing?

How can we draw on the whole of Scripture to shape our organisations’ policies, processes and practices?

We want to welcome you to a Staff Care and Wellbeing, Continual Professional Development (CPD) Event where you can join with other staff care and member care providers for a time of input, conversation, networking and professional development as we explore the rich relationship between the Bible and member care.

This day is for you if you are:

  • a staff care and wellbeing / member care practitioner
  • an organisational leader or trustee
  • an HR manager in a Christian setting
  • someone with pastoral oversight in a Church context
  • responsible for sending and supporting cross-cultural workers (for example, in a Church mission committee)

Session one (10.00–11.00) - Towards a whole-Bible theology for staff care and wellbeing (Rosie Button)

We take it for granted that our staff care and wellbeing in Christian organisations has a biblical basis, but in reality do we tend to focus on a limited selection of verses and passages? In this session we will begin to explore what a more comprehensive theological framework for member care might look like.

15 minute break

Session two (11.15–12.15) - Using the Bible in staff care and wellbeing (Marina Prins)

Looking how specific Bible passages have been used in Member Care, how can we embrace biblical scholarship to make our use of the Bible even more robust and compelling?

30 minute break

Session three (12.45–1.45) - Biblical lament in staff care and wellbeing (Helma Rem and Tim Davy)

What do the Psalms and the book of Job teach us about the need to express and process our pain honestly and faithfully before God and in community? How can we encourage this practice within our organisations, and what implications might this have even for staff care and wellbeing policies, processes and strategy?

Conclusion (1.45–2.00) - Official 2pm finish though some flexibility to stay online if people want to chat further and discuss suggestions for future events.

The event costs £50 - payable through online application

The event is available at a special rate of £30 for Redcliffe and All Nations alumni only - payable through online application.
