Multicultural Worship

19 - 23 April 2022
INTENSIVE on campus only

This 5-day intensive course is aimed at those involved in or interested in ministry in multicultural settings. It is particularly relevant for leaders who are committed to developing multicultural forms of worship and liturgy. The course aims to give practical opportunities to explore liturgy and worship from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds and examine how local art forms can be used to shape liturgy and worship for multicultural settings.

This intensive can be accessed as a standalone Advanced Short Course (ASC), but it also forms part of the MA modules M16 (Church Re-imagined for a Global Age) and M17 (Multicultural Ministry).

For Advanced Short Course participants, the formal timetable will end by 1pm on Friday 23rd April. However you are invited to stay longer (2-4pm) to hear guest speaker, Rev Israel Olofinjana, the newly appointed One People Commission (OPC) director of the Evangelical Alliance (https://www.eauk.org/press-releases/reverend-israel-oluwole-olofinjana-is-announced-as-the-evangelical-alliances-new-one-people-commission-director). The OPC works to support and equip the UK church as it seeks to become more integrated, effective and unified. We hope this will be of interest to you.

For students registered for the MA in Multicultural Church in Practice, you will be required to stay from 2-5.30pm for the session with Israel Olofinjana from 2-4pm, followed by a reflection session 4-5.30pm led by Richard and Louisa Evans to make further connections between the intensive module and M17 modules.

Those accessing Advanced Short Courses will be provided with relevant reading materials and other information to enable their full participation in the course.

ASC participants are not required to complete an assignment and will receive a certificate of participation on completion of the course.
