Why choose route 2?
If you are heading for cross-cultural mission service and have two years available for training then route 2 is for you

What is route 2?
route 2 is a two year in depth programme for those looking for a more comprehensive cross- cultural mission training course. It is aimed at those who would like to spend more time in study and preparation and who would like to access our specialist area modules. The first year of study is the foundational route 1 programme. In the second year of study you can benefit from modules such as social anthropology, leadership, development practice, preaching workshops, Islamic studies, a Biblical language option, specialist arts modules, intercultural evangelism and discipleship and more.

It is now possible to choose from 4 specialist pathway options in:
Arts
Bible and Theology
Religions and Society
Development

All our modules are arranged into one of three categories. Personal Development, Bible and Theology and Intercultural. Within each category, you will find descriptions for each module on the route 2 Diploma programme.

You will also choose a church placement or practical ministry project, and benefit from a range of practical courses on offer. You will also be required to complete a four week supervised placement to gain experience in a cross-cultural environment.

Who teaches a specialism on route 2 ?
Jill Ford BA ( Hons), PGCE, Dip, MA Education (Culture, Language, Identity)
Jill is the coordinator of the arts pathway. She has a background in music and the performing arts and has introduced a variety of arts modules to the allnations training programme. She has been on short term mission trips to Nigeria and Uganda. She is passionate about the role of the arts in mission.

Alongside Jill allnations teaching staff and visiting lectures contribute to the route 2 Diploma programme.

What are the entry criteria ?
route 2 is an open access programme. Normally you should have a minimum of two ‘A’ level equivalents or relevant vocational experience. For those for whom English is not a first language, proof of English skills will also be required (IELTS - 5.5 or Cambridge Advanced at C grade or above)

What qualification will I get ?
The allnations route 2 Diploma in Biblical and Intercultural Studies with the option of Open University validation and a specialist pathway option.

When can I start ?
route 2 year begins late September to the end of June for each year of study.

You can also select a specific module or modules and join the route 2 programme for one term starting late September, early January or in April in any year
